Ambrosial nectar to celebrate the bountiful harvests from Live Botanical's garden and foraging over the summer. A decadent perfume that came to light through the long, thoughtful process of traditional techniques of enfleurage, distillation, and infusion.

The aroma's centerpiece is a diverse collection of Jasmine varietals coupled with an infusion and distillation of Clary Sage. Weaving hypnotic florals with complex, herbaceous green elements.

Flowers that speak to the mysteries of the moon, lifting the veil between our waking and dreaming life. The conscious and unconscious.

Inspired by the balsamic moon phase, the final stage of its cyclical process. Contemplation in the profound beauty of darkness. Like fallen seeds buried deep in composted soil, preparing for new growth. The space for healing, rest, and regeneration. A culmination of the wisdom of previous cycles to carry visions of the future.

Base notes of rich woods of cedar and balsam firs speak to this depth of greater knowing. The strength to find comfort in our capacity to experience life in all its forms, the joys, and sorrows.

Live Botanical grown and produced Jasmine (Jasminum officinale) enfleurage: They gathered fresh flowers from their garden and then laid them in glass trays of wet-milled, raw coconut oil (many traditional methods use animal fats like tallow). These are infused for 1-3 days. Every day, adding new blooms while removing spent petals. They moved through about 2,000 flowers over the course of 4+ weeks. The end result is a delicious, fragrant pomade that we incorporated into the balm.

They used a similar extraction method for their garden-grown Clary Sage plus a hydro-distillation to obtain its essential oil. This provides a deep-rooted herbaceous character that balances the sweet florals of jasmine.

Additional infusions include Wild Roses and Red Cedar resin that was ethically foraged by the Live Botanical team. Along with the Amyris, Labdanum, Fir Balsam, and Vetiver provide earthy, spiced wood notes that settle over time as it dries.

To enhance Live Botanical's garden Jasmine pomade, they included organic (hexane-free) extracts from various varietals including grandiflorum, sambac and auriculatum.

Living fragrances derived purely from whole plants can be fleeting. Part of the joy is sitting with the scent as it unravels from the floral top notes to the dried-down woody base notes. We find the process helps us be in the moment as it tells a beautiful story, an invitation for meditative daydreaming.

How to use: In daily rituals, it creates an intimate scent that is to be applied to pulse points throughout the day. Allow the perfume to breathe by warming it on the skin before inhaling deeply. The scent can last from 1-4 hours (sometimes longer) depending on the wearer. Scent holds best on well-moisturized skin and porous material like our hair.

If sitting with the scent for a period of time as part of a meditation or as aromatherapy, apply to the top of the wrist (preferably where there is arm hair and is easy to bring to the nose). Inhale in 5-10 minute increments or as time allows if doing something else (like working, journaling, reading, etc).

It makes a lovely addition to an unscented lotion or body oil to provide a light scent all over the body. Take a smaller than pea size amount of product and in your palm blend it into the carrier.

Patch test for sensitivities and store away from heat and direct sunlight.

Every ingredient has been grown organically or ethically wild-harvested. 

Notes:

• As a perfume, the overall essential oil dilution equates to about 14%. For reference, typical body oils are 1.5% to 3% and facial care is .16% - 1.5%.
• The base oils used have a shelf life of around 3 years. Based on when the fragrance extraction process started we advise using it by June 2025. As the perfume ages, the scent can shift and become deeper over time. If used as aromatherapy, it’s best by January 2024.

It’s stored in a generously sized 15ml (.5 oz) violet glass jar & packaged in a beautiful gift box.
